Manage job teams
Add team members to a job, assign roles, and control who can contribute.
Control who can work on a job by building a team with specific roles.
Before you start
- Job teams require a Team plan or above.
- You must be the job owner, creator, or a workspace admin to manage the job's team.
View the team
Open any job and go to the Team tab. You see:
- The job owner (always listed first with an Owner badge).
- Team members with their assigned roles.
Add a team member
- In the Team tab, click Manage Team.
- In the modal, scroll to Workspace Members or use the search field to find someone.
- Click Add next to the person you want to add.
- Select a role for the new team member.
The team member now has access to the job based on their role.
Team roles
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Lead | Edit job details, manage dependencies, cancel, delete, approve, add notes, upload files |
| Editor | Mark ready, retry, approve, add notes, upload files |
| Viewer | View the job and its artifacts |
Workspace owners and admins automatically have full access to all jobs — they do not need to be added to the team.
Change a role
- Click Manage Team in the Team tab.
- Find the team member and click their current role.
- Select the new role from the dropdown.
Remove a team member
- Click Manage Team in the Team tab.
- Click the remove button next to the team member.
The person immediately loses access based on their team role. If they are a workspace admin or owner, they retain access through their workspace role.
Private jobs
Private jobs are only visible to team members and workspace admins. Everyone else sees a 404 as if the job does not exist.
Make a job private
When creating a job:
- Open the Options tab in the job creation dialog.
- Check Private Job.
You can also make an existing job private from the Backlog: right-click the job and select Make Private. To make it public again, right-click and select Make Public.
Note: Private jobs require the private jobs entitlement on your plan.
